May Company Updates

It’s been quite a while since our last blog post due to some personal health and family issues. Things have gotten better and thanks to those who have passed along their well wishes.

HireBee v1.3.6 is due out next week which addresses a handful of issues. We’re also working on a few payment gateway plugin issues which should also be rolled out in the coming week or two.

It was a tough decision but due to low adoption rates, Quality Control and the Ideas themes have both been retired. A lot of development, marketing, and support went into these products over the years so it wasn’t something we took lightly.

For existing customers, support will continue up to one year from their purchase date. So on December 1st, 2016, the support forums will be converted to read-only for archive purposes.

We also decided to no longer sell development editions of our products. The only difference between standard and development editions was the inclusion of the original Photoshop psd file. In the past, this was a much requested file for designers, however, times have changed and most designers/developers bypass the Photoshop phase and prototype directly in code.

This makes sense and something we have been doing ourselves for a while now. It also allows us to speed up our product development as we no longer need to work with designers and converting clunky Photoshop files into code.

With that said, we’re actively working on a brand new much-needed design for Vantage. Not only will it be more modern, the usability and customization will be far more flexible than the current version (e.g. drag and drop page modules, Foundation framework, etc). Vantage 4.0 is due out by the end of the year. We’ll include screenshots and more information as the time gets closer!

That’s the latest from the AppThemes team. Hope everyone has a fun and safe Cinco de Mayo!

    Hi David,

because Hirebee: last week i installed the theme.
Now I have the time to set it up and adjust the settings.
    What do you mean?
Would it make sense to wait for the new version?

    And:
At the moment (I think) only the administrator to create new skills and tags can.
However, it is on our side (www.work-in-it.eu) necessary, that job seekers / freelancers can add news skills and news tags (during creation of their profile).

    Will that be possible?

    regards from germany,
    Susanne

@jobhopper, the latest version of HireBee was released yesterday. You can upgrade easily from within your WordPress admin area. If you already configured things, it’s not a problem. Nothing will be changed. 🙂

    Hello,

i´m having some wishes to the new hirebee-version ( Nice to have; something is neccessary)
    • Projectlist: Its desirable, that the admin can decide what unlocked guest can see: nothing, or project abstract or only the titel of projects
    • Freelancer-Profil: Is it possible to put in own Forms in the same way as “projects”?
    • How can I make a custom home page? With single column and slider? Is that possible in the new version?
    • And: the search-functions to project and freelancers is not professional – in the new version of hirebee: is it better? Link “vantage”?
    • last wish: more selection possibilities in the price and credit plan

    regards, Susanne

    Hi David,

thank you for informing us. Got it on Vantage 4.0 in Sept. but will there be some updates for WordPress compatibility issues? For example, is the actual version of Vantage 3.0.6 compatible with WordPress 4.5.2?

    Regards, Daniel

@danyz, yes the latest version of Vantage should work fine with WordPress 4.5. I haven’t heard otherwise.

@sam, no plans for any new themes at this time. Instead, we’re focusing on redesigning our core products.

Any further news on Vantage 4.0? Seems there hasn’t been a blog post since May – not a positive sign for an active company? I’m sure that customers want to hear regular updates…
