Language Packs

By default, ClassiPress is translated into English but the theme has a built-in capability to be used in any language. ClassiPress uses the GNU gettext localization framework (.pot files) which is the WordPress de facto standard for localization. The AppThemes community has already translated our themes into several different languages which are posted below.

How to Install the ClassiPress Language Pack

Here’s how to use the language pack on your ClassiPress site. In this example, we’ll install the Brazilian language pack. Skip the 3rd step if you have already setup WordPress in your native language.

• Download the language pack listed below and unzip it.
• Move the pt_BR.mo file into your /wp-content/themes/classipress/ folder
• Edit your wp-config.php file and paste in define ('WPLANG', 'pt_BR');
• Go and view your site. Everything should now be working!

How to Install the WordPress Language Pack

If your WordPress admin pages are in English, you can easily change them. In this example, we’ll install the Brazilian WordPress language pack. Skip the 4th step if you have already done it above.

• Find and download the WordPress language pack and unzip it.
• Create a new folder called “languages” in your /wp-content/ folder
• Move the pt_BR.mo file into your new /wp-content/languages/ folder
• Edit your wp-config.php file and paste in define ('WPLANG', 'pt_BR');
• Go and view your WordPress admin area. Everything should now be working!

To install a translation, download the .MO file and upload it to your theme directory. You also need to make sure the setting of the WPLANG value in the wp-config.php file matches the translation. Read more about this in the forums.

The theme contains a .PO so anyone can translate the words using a tool such as poEdit. I would greatly appreciate if translations could be sent to me so that I can include them here for everyone else.
